The Story

Half scale skull replica

Species: Allosaurus fragilis – an iconic Late Jurassic theropod, renowned for its lightweight yet powerful build, serrated teeth, and agility as one of the apex predators of its time. This meticulously reproduced skull captures the distinctive anatomy of one of North America’s most famous carnivorous dinosaurs.

This skull specimen is from our iconic Allosaurus, known as a Achilles.

Skull Length: 43.5cm replica.

Time Period: Late Jurassic (~150 million years ago)

Discovery Location: Based on fossil specimens from the Morrison Formation, western United States—a fossil-rich formation spanning Colorado, Utah, and Wyoming, celebrated for preserving some of the most important Jurassic dinosaur discoveries.

Skull: This world-class museum-grade replica showcases classic allosaurid features: large antorbital fenestrae, pronounced brow ridges, slender yet powerful jaws, and recurved serrated teeth adapted for slicing flesh. The lightweight skull structure and deep muscle attachment areas highlight Allosaurus’s role as an active and efficient predator.

Scientific Notes: Allosaurus fragilis is among the best-known large theropods of the Jurassic Period and is believed to have preyed upon giant herbivorous dinosaurs such as Stegosaurus and Diplodocus. Unlike later tyrannosaurids, Allosaurus possessed a more lightly built skull designed for rapid slashing bites rather than bone-crushing force. Its flexible jaws, sharp teeth, and strong neck musculature made it a formidable hunter within Jurassic ecosystems. This reconstruction provides an up-close view of the anatomical adaptations that defined one of prehistory’s most successful carnivores.

Display: Mounted on a custom black metal stand. The textured bone finish and three-dimensional detailing make this skull an ideal centerpiece for any museum, gallery, or high-end collector’s display.

Finish: Fossilized bone appearance with a weathered patina.

Please note: All replicas are made to order.
